Do you want to lead the development of platforms that power next-generation AI solutions?

At Saab, we are expanding our capabilities in Data & AI platforms and are looking for a Technical Lead to join the Software Excellence and Information Assurance (SWEIXA) team within the Surveillance business area.

In this senior role, you will combine technical leadership with hands-on engineering, guiding the design and implementation of cloud-native Data & AI platforms. You will play a key role in shaping our AI solutions, working closely with both engineers and stakeholders to ensure our platforms are secure, scalable and aligned with customer needs.

You will also contribute with your expertise in AI tooling, its possibilities and limitations, and support the team in building robust environments for advanced AI solutions.

Occasional travel may be required.

Your Role

As a Technical Lead, you will guide the architecture and development of our Data & AI platforms while also supporting the team with technical expertise and mentorship.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing the end-to-end architecture and technical implementation of our platforms

• Leading the development of complete AI systems and platform capabilities

• Understanding customer needs and translating business requirements into deployable architecture

• Taking the lead in deploying solutions, including setup, configuration and troubleshooting

• Ensuring efficient operations, observability and performance of Data & AI environments

• Creating guidelines and best practices for AI platform management

• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to team members

• Supporting the team with technical troubleshooting and problem solving

• Staying up to date with AI technologies and trends, contributing to the product roadmap

Your Profile

We are looking for a senior engineer who enjoys combining technical leadership, architecture and hands-on development. You are comfortable working with complex systems, large data environments and modern cloud-native technologies.

You likely have experience with several of the following:

• Strong experience in Golang or other systems programming languages

• Implementation of Kubernetes operators

• Cloud architecture and cloud-native platforms

• DevOps practices including GitOps workflows

• Automation of repetitive tasks using Shell or Python

• Linux environments and container technologies

• CI/CD pipelines using tools such as ArgoCD, Argo Workflows or GitHub Actions

• Security practices such as scanning third-party libraries and container images

• Building Kubernetes environments in data-intensive industries

• Experience with AI model deployment

• Experience working with AI-assisted development or agentic AI

You also have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field such as Data Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Experience in any of the following areas is considered a plus:

• Build and testing pipelines including unit, integration and end-to-end testing

• Security testing such as SAST and DAST

• LLM concepts such as prompting and RAG

• AI certifications (Google, AWS or Microsoft)

• NVIDIA developer certification

• Agile methodologies such as SAFe
