Job Description
Position: Infrastructure Developer
Location: Ottawa, ON
Duration: Full Time, Perm
Job Description:
• Develop and deploy systems for hosting Halogen’s Cloud Management System and solutions.
• Integrate with key SaaS infrastructure components and development components.
• Interface with other key Halogen teams pertaining to internal and external solutions.
• Developing in the SaaS Platform team at Halogen using:
1. Spring Framework / Java – Code base.
2. Postgres database.
3. Big Data Infrastructure – Spark / Hadoop.
4. Expanded report base and reporting framework.
Desired Skills and Experience
We expect that the successful candidate will:
• Have a Degree/diploma in Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience developing web-based applications with Java/J2EE.
• Have knowledge of Java Servlets, JSP, HTML, Javascript, Spring Framework and XML.
• Have knowledge of shell scripting (BASH) and Unix operation systems.
• Have demonstrated experience with:
1. JBoss and Jetty
2. Databases – particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL
3. STS/Eclipse or similar IDE
4. Ideally have knowledge of JQuery, Spark / Hadoop, and Nagios plugins / deployments
