OnsiteCollins Aerospace Engine Control Systems in Windsor Locks, CT is currently looking for an Engineer II, Systems Dynamic Engineering, to join their team. The Engineer II supports military and commercial program(s) for Engine Control Systems. As the Engineer II, you will be responsible for improving and expanding model-based design for hydro-mechanical systems and control systems analysis.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on both new and mature programs and bring new and innovative ideas to the table when it comes to planning and executing. Having a strong background in technical and project leadership is important in this role.
In addition, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams, management, and customers, providing a fantastic chance to enhance your engineering skills while working on a variety of impactful projects.
What You Will Do
Create mathematical models of physical systems to validate dynamic performance requirements using software packages such as Matlab/Simulink/Simscape or Dymola/Modelica.
Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to conduct architectural trade studies and optimize hardware parameters.
Decompose system performance requirements into individual components for detailed analysis and implementation.
Support root cause investigations by helping develop physics-based fault trees, conducting what-if analyses, and analyzing test data.
Support the development of test rigs by creating real-time control models.
Exercise exceptional organizational skills to manage the investigation, tracking, and communication of technical and business aspects of various issues, while also conveying the process to internal and external customers.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
Active secret security clearance preferred.
Experience working with Matlab/Simulink and Dymola/Modelica modeling and programing experience is highly preferred.
Experience and a good understanding of hydro-mechanical systems and control systems.
Experience in systems requirements development, compliance, verification, and validation preferred.
