We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Engineer II with a strong interest in the design, development and maintenance of full-stack, AI-based enterprise applications to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing software solutions and solving complex problems, in support of the customer mission. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and validate software product(s). This position will be onsite in Tysons Corner, VA.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and deploy full-stack, AI-based enterprise applications on an AI Platform

  • Test, troubleshoot, and enhance customer software applications with and on behalf of customers

  • Identify application performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations

  • Conduct design and development reviews of customer software applications

  • Write application specifications and documentation

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Proficient in problem-solving with software, from theoretical to advanced levels.

  • Strong general problem-solving skills with sound judgment, leveraging past experiences and issue analysis.

  • Experience in making minor system or process improvements.

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance or higher is required

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelors (or equivalent) in Computer Science (or related) fields

  • Existing U.S. government issued Secret security clearance or higher.

  • Software development experience with JavaScript and Python

  • Experience with Git or other software version control

  • Experience deploying software to least one of the leading cloud computing platforms (i.e., GCP, AWS, Azure)

  • Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases

  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms and web application development.

  • Proficiency in time-series data analysis, cleansing, and normalization

  • Working knowledge of Agile software development methodology

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
