HS Marston is excited to invite a Senior Thermal Engineer to join our Engineering Department. We are developing the next generation of high-performance and innovative heat exchangers. We welcome candidates with a background in heat exchanger thermal analysis, as well as experience in CFD flow analysis and Python/Excel VBA coding. We value curiosity and a collaborative spirit, especially those eager to tackle complex engineering challenges related to single- and multi-phase flow and heat transfer enhancement.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance existing analytical methods to address all heat exchanger configurations and manufacturing technologies.
  • Utilize Star CCM+ to simulate flow and heat transfer for applications such as design optimization and thermal fatigue analysis.
  • Size heat exchangers using in-house developed Excel-based macros or Python software, applying principles of heat transfer and fluid mechanics with working fluids like air, oil, fuel, and water.
  • Collaborate closely with Test Engineers to conduct validation tests and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Create, maintain, and share technical documentation, including reports, best practice guidelines, design review documents, internal training materials, and journal/conference papers.

  • Lead and support technical engagements and collaborations in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum degree in Mechanical Engineering or a numerate discipline (Mathematics/Physics, etc.)
  • Industry Experience: Experience in Aerospace/Automotive is preferred, but all relevant experience will be warmly considered.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); essential experience in Python programming, Excel VBA, and CFD flow and conjugate heat transfer modeling in Star CCM+.
  • Other Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication (both verbal and written), and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting. Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics is essential, along with experience in vapor cycle component analysis. Familiarity with nTopology and CAD packages such as Siemens NX or other commercial CAD tools is beneficial.

We encourage individuals of all backgrounds and experiences to apply. This position involves access to export-controlled information and hardware, requiring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including obtaining an export license.
