Are you interested in joining a dynamic growing professional organization? The Raytheon team is looking for a Product Owner (PO) for an agile team focused on a Modeling and Simulation development program for the Missile Defense Agency.

What You Will Do

  • As a PO, you will be responsible for the execution of a subset of the engineering scope for the Radar Development Contract Modeling and Simulation Program. The PO is responsible for management, coordination, and execution of the technical, cost and schedule for their team. This includes task planning to create milestones and schedules, tracking earned value and managing competing priorities. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Design, prototyping, software development, integration, test and analysis of new or enhanced system capabilities

  • As a Software Engineer, you will support one or more phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - requirements, design, development (using C and C++), test, validation, and maintenance. Other responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments.

  • Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, including system architecture and design specifications.

  • Participate in product reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.

  • The successful candidate will be expected to build the team’s abilities, provide technical direction and be able to work with both internal and external customers. They will also be expected to support proposal efforts in support of new business and have knowledge of the financial status and planning for the team.

  • This position requires exclusive onsite presence.


What You Will Learn

  • Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.

  • Test-Driven Multi-Disciplined Capability (TDMC) Product Development methodology.

  • A variety of domains such as radar, missile, and/or modeling & simulation

  • Work across engineering disciplines to develop solutions to complex problems in support of defense systems.

  • Use Artificial Intelligence AI to increase efficiency, resulting in higher quality products, across the SDLC.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Experience in developing systems and applications using an object-oriented (OO) programming language (in particular, C++).

  • Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system.

  • Experience with data structures, software design principles, and coding algorithms, particularly in high-concurrency and distributed systems.

  • Experience leading or managing a team.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance (DoD).

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user requirements

  • Prior experience with Radar Modeling and Simulation and/or Missile Defense programs

  • Ability to understand radar systems technology in the areas of radar design and analysis, and systems engineering development

  • Experience with Shell Scripting (tcsh, csh, bash), Python scripting, software development tools like Git, and software debuggers

  • Certified or Registered Product Owner.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles and metrics

  • Experience in OO languages such as Java, C#, and Ada.

  • Execution of technical, cost and schedule performance.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
