What You Will Do:
- Production Test Engineering management is looking for a highly motivated individual to support testing of production Engines and Auxiliary Power Units (APU) at the West Palm Beach (WPB) Engine Center.
- The Operations Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing the assigned test stands calibration program, resolving issues with test stand electrical hardware, software systems and data system hardware troubleshooting.
- WPB currently supports testing for the F135, FT4000 Gas Turbine, PW1100G NEO, and 16 types of (APU). Additionally, the Operations Electrical Engineer collaborates on projects related to these models and must be able to successfully communicate with others to meet all program requirements. This can be a challenging role, but also highly rewarding and impactful.
- The position is for a 1st Shift Operations Electrical Engineer with working hours from 7:00-1530
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute troubleshooting on Engine & APU, test systems hardware, and software.
- Calibration, Maintenance and troubleshooting a variety of precision instrumentation, including Thermocouples, RTDs, Load Cells, RVDTs/Resolvers, Pressure Transducers, Pressure Gauges, Flowmeters and Weather Instrumentation.
- Maintaining and Troubleshooting Data System Hardware, including PCs, Operator Interfaces, Local Networking, Audio/Visual Systems, Data Acquisition Hardware and Engine Control Equipment.
- Respond to trouble calls for Test Stand Data System, test cell wiring, system controls including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Valves, Solenoids and Relays.
- Works closely with Production, Test Engineering, and Software groups to support daily operations, special test requirements (Pilot Lots, Etc.), and Test Process Improvements.
- The Occasional off shift coverage may be required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field with significant engine/test cell/powerplant background and 8+ years relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field, 5+ years’ experience with Engine test cell, Control systems, or equivalent is required.
- Years of related experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Strong electronics background including analog and digital circuits, troubleshooting of circuit boards, and soldering skills.
- Interpretation of Test Stand and Engine Electrical Schematics required.
- Candidates should have a working knowledge of Engine or APU test systems operation, familiar with special test equipment, acquainted with APU or Engine test organization.
- Ability to work in a dynamic / high-impact environment across multiple disciplines.
- Experience with Engine or APU test, flight line and/or engine shop maintenance.

Qualifications We Value:
- Engine / APU test facility operations and system level functionality experience.
- Working knowledge of industrial and avionics communication protocols, including RS232, RS422, UART, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553 and Fiber Optics.
- Proficient in use of Laboratory test equipment, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, Function Generators, hydrometers, etc. Familiar with vibration, temperature, force, pressure, and flow instrumentation
- Strong background in Computers and Networking include computer build and setup, LAN setup, TCP/IP networking and working knowledge of Linux/Unix Environments.
- Knowledge of SPS / CORE / PMFEAs / ORM / 3Ps / Continuous Process Improvement
- Familiar with our production specific acquisition systems (MICADS/ICADS/ITE) and support tools (GitHub/SAP/Solumina/Unigraph/Insight/Microsoft O365).
- Managing overall test control and data system capabilities, PLC programming and Cross discipline teaming with subject matter experts.
- Comprehensive sustainment and upgrade planning and execution.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
