This role is an onsite role in Richardson, Texas, however highly qualified individuals may be considered for a hybrid situation.

What You Will Do:

  • Design and automate deployment and integration of applications onto a common platform and infrastructure using modern DevSecOps and automation practices.
  • Lead and mentor engineers as needed, providing technical guidance and support under the direction of team leadership.
  • Develop, implement, and troubleshoot DIPN deployment automations while integrating both familiar and unfamiliar technologies into cohesive, orchestrated solutions.
  • Analyze gaps in technology solutions and develop approaches to close them, ensuring alignment with team direction, scope, and architectural guidance.
  • Create, automate, and refine installation, integration, and test procedures. Document processes clearly and demonstrate completed work to a variety of audiences.
  • Participate fully in team Agile ceremonies, including daily scrum, Sprint planning, Program
  • Increment planning, and retrospectives while helping teammates succeed in their tasking.
  • Travel up to 10%

What You Will Learn

  • Deep hands-on experience with advanced DevSecOps, GitOps, and infrastructure automation technologies at scale, including Rancher, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Terraform, Terragrunt, and HashiCorp Enterprise platforms.
  • How to design and maintain resilient, containerized platform environments such as RKE2 and automate desired‑state system management using Ansible, Bash, or Python.
  • Advanced techniques for automating system integrations using container technologies like Docker, Podman, and Compose-based workflows, along with IaC-driven server and OS deployments.
  • How to work across complex Linux, virtualization, and network ecosystems including VMWare, KVM, Nginx, Vault, CoreDNS, dnsmasq, Artifactory, DNS services, and host-level network configuration.
  • Strategies for troubleshooting and orchestrating large, multi-technology solutions in high‑compliance environments requiring precision, clarity, and robust documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience establishing and expanding DevSecOps (6 frameworks using Rancher, ArgoCD, and FluxCD for GitOps at scale.
  • Deep technical expertise with Helm for package management and maintaining large-scale, containerized PaaS environments (e.g., RKE2).
  • Proficiency in modular infrastructure automation using Terraform and Terragrunt, including state management and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Professional experience deploying and managing HashiCorp Enterprise solutions in production-grade or high-compliance settings.
  • Strong background in enforcing desired-state configuration and eliminating configuration drift through automation using Ansible, Bash, or Python.
  • Ability to integrate diverse technologies, automate procedures, document clearly, and demonstrate technical work to varied audiences.
  • Active and transferable Secret - Current clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience automating system integrations using Docker, Podman, and Compose-based workflows, combined with IaC tools for server and OS deployment automation (PXE boot, DHCP, Kickstart).
  • Linux systems administration and security expertise, including virtualization technologies (VMWare, KVM), and use of 3rd-party software such as Nginx, Vault, CoreDNS, dnsmasq, Artifactory.
  • Basic understanding of computer networking, DNS, and Linux host-based network management (interfaces, firewalls, etc.).
  • Ability to lead and mentor up to three engineers.
  • Additional relevant technical or soft skills beyond required qualifications.
  • Experience contributing to Agile team ceremonies and collaborating within an Agile development environment.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
