Job description (M4)

  • Leads and manages a multidisciplinary team, driving New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives from concept through engineering release.
  • Oversee design, development, DFMA evaluation, validation, and complete engineering release cycle activities while ensuring alignment with safety, quality, cost, and performance objectives.
  • Establishes and enhances engineering processes, technical standards, and best practices to support efficient product development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge and exposure to AI/ML implementation in engineering design, automation, analytics, or digital transformation initiatives will be considered an added advantage.

Primary responsibility:

  • Lead and manage a moderately sized team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate with Bangalore operations on lighting products to ensure product alignment with company goals and customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, Software, Drafting, Manufacturing, Operations and project management
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance processes are in place and followed
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, advancements, and emerging technologies
  • Develop and maintain customer and stakeholders’ relationships and identify new business opportunities
  • Manage and resolve technical issues, conflicts, and changes in project scope.
  • Drive continuous improvement in products & processes and implement them.
  • Good knowledge of Lean tools and should be able to apply those in regular work
  • Prepare and present reports, proposals, and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Talent development & management including hiring, training, mentoring & retention.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering with 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Sound knowledge in Mechanical Engineering fundamentals
  • Knowledge of Aerospace Standards (DO-160)
  • Exposure to Catia/ MBD / Teamcenter Tools
  • Good experience in DFMA / GD&T / Stack-up analysis
