SE is looking for a Modeling and Simulation engineer with the technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class Land and Air Defense Systems.  Integrated Air & Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support the Raytheon Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) mission area from our Tewksbury MA, and Andover MA locations.  The IAMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.

The Switzerland Patriot Bodluv GR Commercial Contract (BCC) is looking for a systems engineer who will be directly responsible for supporting the technical execution of the BCC program scope.  This program need requires broad technical understanding of Air and Missile Defense Systems including engineering and manufacturing development standards, processes, and best practices. This position will directly interface with the customers from the Swiss Government in addition to an international supplier base.

The position is hybrid with occasional travel to Tewksbury/Andover and Switzerland anticipated.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Support BCC technical leadership goals by working customer-facing actions across globally distributed cross functional team representing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, IPT/CPT Leadership, and Program Office

  • Serve as a technical advisor (obtain certification if not already certified) overseeing Export/Import activities for the program with support from BCC Chief Engineer (CE) and Lead Systems Engineer (LSE)

  • Provide technical leadership for BCC Product Support (PS) scope, including Technical Manual (TM) development and Center for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (CMRO) capability establishment

  • Manage the customer-facing list of open requirements issues, working with the team to reach resolutions within existing scope and budget while addressing customer concerns.

  • Support the BCC CE in ensuring technical integrity and engineering execution across all Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Cross Product Teams (CPTs), and disciplines within the Program to cost, schedule, technical requirements

  • Support program communication with the customer technical community, including preparation of materials and supporting presentations to the customer internal senior program management and engineering leadership.

  • Support BCC Swiss supplier(s) Engineering execution through review of supplier deliverables, including providing feedback to help them fulfill contract requirements and customer expectations from preliminary design through the development lifecycle.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Curiosity, willingness to learn and accept new challenges

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information

  • Existing Secret Clearance (DoD)

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 6 years of prior relevant experience.  In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience designing, producing and/or fielding aerospace or defense hardware

  • Experience with Raytheon standard practices for system design, development, integration/verification, production, and/or sustainment

  • Broad technical understanding of Patriot System CONOPS and hardware

  • Direct experience collaborating with and presenting to customers, with international experience a plus

  • Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management

  • Existing Secret Clearance (DoD)

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
