Pratt & Whitney is seeking a goal oriented, detail-focused Project Engineer to work for our Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles (MSEN), Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) Team based in East Hartford, CT.

What You Will Do

• Support engineering related efforts to meet shop and supplier delivery requirements.
• Work closely with operations, quality, procurement, and engineering discipline SMEs to drive root cause investigations, develop associated corrective actions, and implement product and process improvements.
• Work with multidiscipline teams to address various production improvement opportunities.
• Opportunity to grow communication and leadership skills through driving Quality Notification (QN) workflow with outsource teams.
• Track group metrics and look for improvements.
• Coordinate evaluation and response to supplier requests for information electronic Supplier Request for Information (eSRI).

Qualifications You Must Have

• Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience working in the Aerospace Industry within the design and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Teamcenter, Unigraphics, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis.
• Understanding of hardware, blueprints, and manufacturing methods.
• Candidate should have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and cultural awareness.

• In this role you will be involved with various production support activities related to commercial or military products. Plan and manage corrective action activities that drive QN and cost reduction.
• Develop Class II engineering change packages to improve quality, cost and producibility metrics. Assist in Cost of Poor-Quality initiatives and producibility improvement tasks. Identify areas of waste within production support process.  Continue to challenge current process and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
• Work with the Project team to help eliminate repeat analysis through proactively addressing repeat QNs. Capture ESTO producibility lessons learned. Being learning the skills to eventually become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for applicable part families and engine hardware. Help prepare status and technical content to Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT), MSEN/ESTO management and Program management.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
