The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
We have an opening for an Associate Director, Indirect Tax Technology in Raytheon Technologies (RTX) Tax department in Indirect Tax. This newly created role will be responsible for managing the identification and implementation of a single best practice solution for Indirect tax and transform existing processes accordingly throughout design and blue printing phase upon implementing S4/Hana. This role will also be responsible for the implementation of e-invoicing mandates across RTX. Furthermore, this role will oversee all current state Indirect tax processes across existing ERP systems. This is not an executive level role. The role is responsible for analysis, transformation and maintenance of indirect tax processes prior to and after go-live at S4/Hana. This position reports directly to the Director of VAT for RTX Corporate Finance. Selected candidate will be required to work business hours that align with Eastern U.S. time.
What You Will do:
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assess current state of US Sales Tax and VAT processes across various RTX ERP systems, examples including:
- Deployment of company codes for legal entities, branches and tax jurisdictions across all BU and ERP systems
- Invoice requirements across all billing types, particularly for VAT
- Contracts set-up
- Master data
- Tax code and VAT registration set-up
- How do we manage e-invoicing (e.g. VAT)
- Assess current state of any manual processes where ERP isn’t being optimally deployed, examples including:
- Intercompany invoices
- 3rd party invoices
- Outsourced invoice processes
- Workflow processes for any AP approvals managed outside of ERP system
- Define future state of all processes from S4 Hana perspective
- Single process for all life cycle components
- Ensure future state is properly incorporated in all phases of the project lifecycle, including Blueprinting, Requirements and Design phases of the project
- Post Go-live / implementation support of S4 Hana Indirect Tax requirements
- Staying current with industry trends, emerging technological considerations and best practices in areas impacting SAPS/4HANA and SUT/VAT
- Monitor new e-invoicing mandates and assess existing mandates impacting RTX and manage the implementation of a global e-invoicing solution across RTX.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- This role typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Tax or Finance or related field and 12 years of relevant experience gained in large multi-national, corporate indirect tax, or accounting environment, to include experience in a supervisory capacity or a Master’s and 10 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 10 years recent SAP Finance and Controlling functional experience, including SD, MM and FI modules
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with SAP Finance and Controlling integration within SAP modules and non-SAP enterprise applications, e.g. Ariba, E-Invoicing
- At least 10 years’ experience and strong knowledge of SAP functional architecture to evaluate business requirements and thought leadership in recommending solutions that provide consistent, integrated approaches between SAPS/4HANA and external applications that support RTX Tax, e.g. OneSource/Vertex Indirect Tax software
- At least 10 years’ experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation best practices from an SUT and VAT perspective; with experience serving manufacturing/industrial companies with international operations preferred
- At least 5 years of project management experience including superior communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (US Citizen or Green card holder) without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Tax functional knowledge of SUT and/or VAT is strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills, including ability and desire to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with other organizations and individuals throughout Tax and Finance organizations at RTXHQ and Business Units, and external partners
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure with the ability to multitask with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into meaningful analysis.
- Proven people leader that focuses and development and growth of direct reports.
Location/Type:
- Hybrid or Remote This is a hybrid or remote role, eligible candidates should reside near the RTX hub in Farmington Ct or be located in the Continental USA however frequent travel to in-person workshops and meetings is expected

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
