RSM US LLP is looking for a Go-to-Market Business Development Director for Tax Technology-enabled compliance services to join our team. This individual will collaborate with partners to unlock new business opportunities and educate our business development team on how to sell our technology-enhanced tax compliance services. The role requires a strong business development background, a deep understanding of how technology can enhance tax compliance, and the ability to work cross-functionally to drive the adoption of our innovative services. This is a high-impact role that will help shape the future of tax compliance at our firm, contributing to business growth and market leadership.

Overview:

This individual will play a key role in collaborating with partners to open doors with potential clients, expand existing RSM relationships, and educating our business development team on how to effectively sell our technology-enabled tax compliance services. These services are enhanced by our tax technology solutions, such as PartnerSight, FamilySight, and Corporatesight, but our focus is on delivering a comprehensive, technology-enabled tax compliance experience to clients. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your business development expertise to help transform tax compliance processes and enhance client service with innovative technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Sales Support: Collaborate with firm partners to identify and pursue new business opportunities, focusing on opening doors with high-value clients in the tax space. Work closely with the tax team and partners to create customized compliance solutions enhanced by tax technology.
  • Client Expansion: Working with Tax leadership and North American Sales leadership, identify high-value client expansion opportunities with existing RSM clients, with a focus on tax technology enabled services.
  • Education & Enablement: Lead the effort to educate and mentor our business development team on the value propositions of our technology-enabled compliance services. Provide training and guidance to ensure they can effectively pitch and sell these services to clients.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key internal stakeholders, including partners and senior leadership, to ensure alignment and smooth execution of go-to-market strategies.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform go-to-market strategies and enhance the firm’s value proposition to clients.
  • Collaboration & Strategy: Work with the marketing and product teams to develop go-to-market materials and strategies. Help shape messaging and positioning for technology-enabled compliance services that resonate with target audiences, such as private equity firms, family offices, and corporate tax departments.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or account management, with a focus on enterprise-level clients.
  • Experience in the tax technology or tax compliance space, with a deep understanding of how technology can enhance tax compliance services.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively educate and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams to drive success in selling technology-enabled tax compliance services.
  • Ability to understand and distill complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience.
  • Strong networking skills and a willingness to pursue opportunities within the tax compliance space, leveraging your own industry contacts and experience.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $300,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
