Minimum Requirements

• BS degree (preferably in Packaging, Engineering, Chemistry, Food Science, or related technical field)

• 5+ years in Packaging Engineering/packaging technology or material development

• Knowledge of food packaging fundamentals and application to the product development process

• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective presentation skills

• Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams and with external suppliers

• Willingness to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Packaging, Engineering, Chemistry, Food Science, or related technical field

• Strong understanding of packaging materials, functionality, qualification and commercialization of multiple packaging formats, design of experiment, machine design development, prototype creation

• Experience utilizing scientific principles to solve technical problems.

• Manage scale-up risk and introduction of technology into supply chain

What will be your key responsibilities? 

• Direct leadership of key packaging engineering development projects  

• Support the translation of technology from ideas into virtual and working proof of principle models 

• Support scale-up and transition of knowledge from the Global Packaging development team, other regions or segments, vendors, sites or technology developments to full scale project deployment

• Innovation development of new science and technology or deployment of existing technologies into new applications within the business

• Forming effective knowledge/technology teams (internal and external) to overcome hurdles to advance ideas and concepts 

• Creating value through harmonization of materials, process or systems across multiple technologies.

• Design, deliver and manage specifications of materials, equipment and processes to delivery quality packaging with efficiency.
