Job Description:
The Climate & Sustainability Sourcing Manager is essential for driving our organization's commitment to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by 2050. This role exists to implement and manage strategies that enhance sustainable sourcing practices, mitigate deforestation risks, and promote regenerative agriculture in our supply chains. Additionally, the manager will oversee the budget required to implement initiatives related to these commitments, align strategies with the sourcing team, engage stakeholders with the guidelines and commitments, and inform them of progress, deliverables, and next steps, including efforts related to the Next Generation Supplier program.
The Climate & Sustainability Sourcing Manager operates in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, engaging with various internal teams such as global experts, sourcing, operations, finance, and corporate affairs.
This role is pivotal in translating the organization’s sustainability commitments into actionable strategies that drive real change throughout the supply chain.
The manager will leverage analytical tools and frameworks to assess supplier practices, focusing on mitigating deforestation risks and enhancing carbon reduction efforts. This includes conducting comprehensive evaluations of suppliers to ensure compliance with deforestation-free principles, as well as implementing innovative technologies that enhance supply chain transparency and traceability (MGIS). To foster a culture of sustainability, the manager will organize cross-functional workshops and training sessions that promote best practices in sustainable sourcing and regenerative agriculture. Engaging suppliers in these initiatives is crucial for building long-term partnerships that align with the organization's sustainability goals.
Additionally, the Climate & Sustainability Sourcing Manager will oversee the budget allocated for implementing various sustainability initiatives, ensuring resources are utilized effectively to meet commitments. Regular communication with stakeholders is essential; the manager will provide updates on progress, challenges, and key deliverables, ensuring all parties are aligned and informed.
Reporting on sustainability metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) will be part of the manager's responsibilities, helping to illustrate the impact of sourcing decisions on environmental and social outcomes. This role is not just about compliance; it’s about driving systemic change and influencing the broader supply chain landscape to achieve the organization's vision of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, while positively impacting communities and ecosystems.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in administration, industrial engineering, environmental science, Sustainability, Supply
Chain Management, or a related field.
Master’s degree or professional certifications in sustainability or supply chain management preferred.
+ 5 years of experience in sustainability, sourcing, or supply chain management
Highly experienced procurement professional, fluent in Spanish & English
Proven experience in implementing sustainability initiatives, particularly related to deforestation-free sourcing and regenerative agriculture.
Comfort working in a multi-cultural environment and building relationships at all levels.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Develop and Implement Climate Action Plans: Lead the creation of climate action plans focused on
carbon reduction across the supply chain, including strategies for regenerative agriculture, land use
change, and sourcing optimization. Magane the initiatives and ensure deliverables.
Deforestation and Conversion-Free Sourcing: Accelerate efforts to source beef and soy exclusively
from suppliers adhering to deforestation-free principles, ensuring compliance with specified action
plans for Mexico suppliers.
Sustainable fish: Collaborate closely with the sourcing team to ensure that all fish procured aligns with
our sustainability principles.
Supply Chain Management: Engage with suppliers to align on sustainability guidelines, enhancing
transparency and traceability in sourcing practices supporting the sourcing team in communications
related with sustainability
Budget Management: Oversee the budget for initiatives related to sustainability commitments,
ensuring effective allocation of resources and correct execution.
Stakeholder Alignment: Communicate progress and strategies to stakeholders, ensuring alignment
with guidelines and sustainability commitments. Responsible for mapping, connecting and managing
the relationship with non-governmental partners (NGOs, Civil Society Organization, Industry Peers,
Sustainability Forums…)
Next Generation Supplier Program: Enhance supplier engagement through the Next Generation
Supplier program, driving positive social and environmental impacts.
Field Visits: Manage meetings and origin field trips to program sites, including, senior leaders,
associates, program partners and external stakeholders.
Communication: Work with Corporate Affairs Leaders to ensure proper communication internal and externally.
