Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
This is for the role of Data & Reporting specialist. The developer will have the responsibility of data governance and development (both backend and UI).
What will you do?
- Designing and coding application programs; performing testing for developed applications.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system.
- Developing custom reports and UI pages for reporting purposes.
- Automation of various manual processes which IT and business perform.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- 4+ years of Unix Shell scripting
- 4+ years of JAVA, Hadoop development
- Spark/Hive
- Expertise with SQL/RDBMS Databases
- Hands on with Data Visualization and reporting development, statistical analysis and excel spreadsheet development
- Working knowledge of management, mapping, manipulation and wrangling of data
Nice to Have
- Python experience.
- Prior Tableau and ServiceNow Development experience
- Statistics and machine learning
- Data models and Web development, Data Warehousing experience
