Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent  Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

Program Manager / Senior Project Manager will manage the execution of large  initiatives within HR IT.  The role involves planning, directing, and coordinating activities across cross-functional business and technology teams within and outside HR to ensure projects/program goals and objectives are accomplished within approved timeframe, scope and budget.

What will you do?

  • Plan and full project lifecycle (initiation, definition, financials, resourcing, implementation)

  • Work with HR Business/Technology Owners to ensure that the initiatives successfully deliver against desired business outcomes and enable value creation

  • Help establish appropriate governance and oversight for assigned initiatives

  • Develop integrated baseline project plans applying estimation models; refines & tracks plans including coordination of inter-work stream dependencies; manages performance against delivery plans

  • Raise and track issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves project issues and escalates to immediate manager when required

  • Manage project/program communications including status reports to executives, stakeholders, business units, vendors, project team

  • Responsible for support & oversight of project and program delivery assurance and lead IT face off to RBC internal audit

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 7+ years Project /Program Management experience

  • Possesses a strong knowledge of SDLC and 2+ years of experience with Agile delivery methodologies & tooling (JIRA, Confluence, Rally Central)

  • Strong problem solving capabilities ; Strong structured, analytical and methodological thinking

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task across competing priorities

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Project, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint)

Nice-to-have

  • RBC project/Program management experience

  • Domain expertise in HR / Payroll

  • PMP and/or PgMP certification
