Senior Cloud Developer

Provides technical support on system infrastructure architecture, design, development and testing of customized cloud computing solutions. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.

As a Senior Cloud Developer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology at RBC and gaining experience building and operating fully managed technology services in a hybrid Cloud environment.

What will you do?

• Engineering:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and resilient hybrid Cloud services that align with organizational goals.

  • Automation is the key to sustainable success. As part of the Cloud Support team, you will be tasked to develop and implement automated solutions to streamline support delivery and services.

  • Identify and implement best practices for resource utilization and scalability in diverse infrastructure landscapes.

• Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for various deployment models.

• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Actively engage with application development and support teams to resolve evolving and ongoing issues on both Kafka and Elasticsearch platforms.

  • Respond to incidents promptly as part of on-call schedule, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 5+ years of professional experience; 2-3 years of development experience

• Scripting and automation skills (eg. Shell, Ansible, Python) for infrastructure as code.

• Experience with container technologies (eg. Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience with Kafka either in a development or operations perspective.

• Passion for debugging complex systems and have an eye for problems that occur at scale.

• Care deeply about resiliency of systems and quality of the features you ship.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Strong desire to learn new skills and technologies.    

                                                                                                                       

Nice-to-have

• AI based Chatbot development and implementation experience.

• Software development experience in either Java, Go or Python

• Familiarity with Elasticsearch either in a development or operations perspective.
