RBC Brewin Dolphin - Client Facing Data Analyst

What is the opportunity?

The role of a Client Facing Data Analyst influences how RBC Brewin Dolphin defines and implements strategic and operational data effectiveness across our client-facing business. This role supports the Head of Client Facing Data in managing data controls to support our client facing team, ensuring that high-quality data is available to run our business and meet our client’s needs.

Client Facing Data Analysts are involved in the end-to-end data journey, from being involved in new processes or projects, sourcing of new data feeds, deriving new rules-based logic to improve controls and data quality assurance. This includes helping to evaluate current workflows, conduct data gap analysis, downstream and upstream system analysis, and identify opportunities for improved data governance and oversight.

What will you do?

• Work with the Head of CFT Client Data to improve data quality within the front office and to find more effective ways of obtaining / maintaining data.

• Perform anomaly detection across large data sets, investigating the cause and recommending corrective actions.

• Sharing best practices within the immediate team and driving the concept of data stewards through the business.

• Create and maintain data quality issue metrics to ensure clean KPI-KRIs.

• Prepare health metrics in partnership with data team, dashboard, trend analysis, provide data knowledge to support to build DQ rule inventory, business / data analysis for reference data issues, data rule execution reporting.

• Work with the Head of CFT Client Data to drive implementation of the data model, defining the future operating data model requirements and embedding clear, consistent operational workflows and methodology into the business.

• Work with Process Architecture team to improve processes and update systems to improve client outcomes.

• Partner with the data team and Process Architecture to develop scalable strategic business processes to support our clients.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Exposure to creating custom dashboards.

• Corporate experience.

• Ability to dive into details and synthetize information for executive communication.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a passion for data, data skills and data tools.

• Knowledge of data discovery and root cause analysis.

• Understanding of end-to-end business processes and technological impact on these areas.

• Ability to structure and scope complex data and data governance problems.

Nice-to-have

• Strong SQL skills

• Intermediate Python
