What is the opportunity?

As the Head of Asset Services, you will be working for various Wealth Management Europe (WME) legal entities, with broader engagement across all Wealth Management/Enterprise platforms.

Accountable for the Asset Services functions supporting the WME business; the role delivers both operational and strategic leadership across people, process, risk management for the WME solutions including Investments, Banking, Credit, Custody, and Corporate Treasury.  The role includes oversight and control of outsourced operational functions in Malaysia.

The role leads a team of 200 FTE, with 6 leaders directly reporting to you.

What will you do?

  • Prioritize identifying and sustaining suitable internal and external resources to utilise the right mix of skills, capabilities, and expertise to ensure successful delivery against operational, regulatory, and strategic priorities.

  • Lead as the senior business partner for WME and Global Operations and act as the senior escalation point for any service quality issues across all processes within Asset Services including but not limited to, trade processing, fees, valuations, payments, regulatory reporting (CASS/FSCS), custody, network management, reconciliations etc.

  • Oversee the Operational Oversight Committee ensuring Malaysian operational teams adhere to relevant SLAs and KRIs.

  • Establish and sustain appropriate stakeholder engagement best practices enabling a first-class business partner experience supported by transparent MI and fact-based feedback.

  • Actively engage with professional service providers, industry forums and strategic vendors to foster relationships and develop thought leadership to drive a culture of perpetual improvement, creating capacity to support growth.

  • Review volumes across all operational units to ensure staffing levels are adequately maintained to ensure quality service delivery to all internal business partners and clients.

  • Establish effective regulatory compliance throughout Asset Services, ensuring the function operates within pre-defined Enterprise and regulatory parameters and provide ongoing challenge and effective management with regulatory matters.

  • Perpetual focus on Regulatory Risk; maintaining compliance to RBC Enterprise standing orders and external Regulatory regimes/polices including regular engagement with 2LoD partners to proactively prepare for future changes.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Educated to Degree, equivalent standard or relevant industry experience.

  • Proven experience in Operational Senior Management within Financial Services.

  • A comprehensive understanding of Wealth Management/Banking solutions including the risk factors that require mitigating.

  • Deep understanding of the risks of Wealth Management/Banking markets and solutions. Risk and control orientated with the ability to interpret regulatory change.

  • Current knowledge of market regulations, our competitors, activities, regulatory and legislative developments.

  • Current knowledge FCOT, AML and KYC regulatory changes across BI regulatory bodies.

  • Exceptional People Leadership experience across multiple jurisdictions with demonstrable delivery of results including customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
