About the Team:

The expertise of our Technology team helps make Rothy’s a well-oiled machine. These whizzes keep all things tech-related ticking—from expertly engineering our site to providing essential IT assistance to cross-functional teams. As a direct to consumer company, technology is at the center of everything we do, and we couldn’t do it without this team. 

Rothy’s is looking for a QA Engineer to join our growing technology team as the first internal QA resource. And to help ensure that our products are delivered with the highest level of quality possible. 

In this role you will work collaboratively with the product engineering team to test new product features before release. You will be primarily responsible for the creation and execution of test cases, manual and automated testing as needed. You will be responsible for discovery, management, and closure of issues discovered during the testing process. You will also assist in the identification of process improvements and quality standards.

We are looking for someone who possesses excellent analytic and problem-solving skills and has the tenacity to discover the hard-to-find defects and manage them until closure. A passion for retail and fashion, and a focus on sustainability are a plus.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and execute test scenarios and test cases
  • Give input on creating test plans and ensure all scenarios are covered for functional, integration, and regression testing
  • Participate in, and contribute to, design reviews, code reviews, and project planning
  • Update and maintain traceability matrices to ensure test coverage
  • Give input into the creation of necessary test data prior to test execution; ability to perform queries and table updates to create test data
  • Capture and communicate the results of testing accurately and clearly; participate in defect triage meetings
  • Provide accurate reports of test progress to the management team and follow up with the development team on defects; participate in root cause analysis discussions for all defects
  • Proactively bring issues to the attention of the team, and propose and implement solutions to solve them
  • Work with the team to ensure integrity, reliability, and predictability of the deployment process, while maintaining documentation
  • Drive Defect Management: Bug identification, reporting, validation, regression testing, and enhancing automation detection

You are:

  • Passionate about automation and ensuring the highest quality product delivery
  • Able to quickly learn and understand front-end and back-end applications to ensure quality testing is executed

You have:

  • The ability to create test plans and test design templates, as well as detailed test cases, by analyzing requirements, setting up test environments, understanding and executing test scripts with little supervision
  • Hands-on experience on UI/API/Performance and Security testing
  • Strong working experience good understanding of HTTP, HTTPS, RESTful architecture, SQL
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, ARIA, CSS and JavaScript and browser behavior
  • Experience working with trackers such as Jira etc.
  • Experience with test automation of web applications (e.g. Cypress)
  • Experience working in an Agile development lifecycle
  • Efficient in performing data analysis with large datasets and capable of solving loosely defined problems
  • Experience with ecommerce specific platforms, Shopify preferred
  • Experience with an iPaSS provider (e.g., Boomi, Tibco, Mulesoft) is a plus
  • Experty in working  in an Agile SCRUM environment and test tracking tools such as Jira
  • Experience driving cross-team technical discussions with an understanding of  SDLC  concepts
