We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Component Design Engineer within the Engineering for Production and Aftermarket (EPA) team.
This team forms part of the Turbomachinery Hot Section organisation. The successful candidate would be working to support new component manufacture, engine build, overhaul deliveries in addition to on-wing service support.
What you will be doing:
As the Component Design Engineer, you will be accountable for:
- Supporting delivery of our suppliers through design/manufacturing collaboration and assessment of non-conformance.
- Protecting the fleet health by working with our Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) network to assess Technical Variances (TVs) and support engine overhaul deliveries.
- Driving the journey to zero defects, completing proactive tasks to reduce concessions TVs within production and aftermarket respectively.
- Supporting on-wing service issues to ensure our products achieve the maximum time on wing (ToW) possible, whilst ensuring product safety.
Preferred requirements:
- Component design background with product safety understanding and Turbomachinery (gas turbine) architecture familiarisation.
- Experience of assessing non-conformance.
- Manufacturing engineering understanding/experience (e.g. DfM).
- Experienced in problem solving, stakeholder management, technical leadership and team leadership
- Understanding of Zero Defects
- Understanding of gas turbine overhaul and product lifecycle.
- Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline. Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered.
