Job Description Summary:

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic for our SaaS applications. You will work closely with our frontend developers, product owner, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, performant, and secure software solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in Java, Java EE, and a desire to grow and learn within a collaborative environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend components for our SaaS applications using Java and Java EE.
  • Implement server-side logic, database interactions, and RESTful APIs to support frontend functionalities.
  • Collaborate with other team members to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to ensure code quality.
  • Optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the backend systems by implementing robust security practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually improve our development processes.

  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum of 1+ years of professional experience as a Backend Developer.
  • Proficient in Java and Java EE.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
  • Experience with database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, bitbucket) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SaaS platforms and understanding of SaaS architecture.
  • Knowledge of frameworks and tools such as Spring, Hibernate, and JPA.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools (e.g., JUnit, Mockito).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) capabilities (Good to have)

  • Familiarity with common formats used in EDI (XML, IDOC, EDIFACT) and B2B integration experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Retail/ Manufacturing EDI transactions like 850, 860, 867, 852, 830, 856, 810, 947, 846, 940 and 945 etc.

  • Technical Skills required

  • Primary Skills: Java, Apache Kafka, Webservice.
  • IDE: Eclipse, VS
  • Tools: Docker, Ant, Maven, Git, Jenkins, Git, Confluence, JIRA,
  • Testing: Junits, Mockito
  • AWS Services : EC2, S3
  • Databases: PostgreSQL
  • OS: Windows Server, Linux/Unix

Travel Requirements:  

<5% minimal travel
