Job Description Summary:

This role involves leading and coordinating the Central European Sales Engineering teams to ensure the corporate strategy is effectively communicated and implemented in alignment with the Go-To-Market teams at Rocket Software.
The role also focuses on enhancing the operational efficiency of the team by identifying and promoting talent, refining reporting and metrics, validating technical solutions, and providing hands-on leadership throughout the pre-sales cycle. The ideal candidate will be a professional, commercially astute individual with excellent presentation skills, a strong technical curiosity, and the ability to lead a distributed team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate the strategy for the Sales Engineering team in collaboration with EMEA-based pre-sales functions.
  • Manage the Sales Engineering team to ensure seamless knowledge transfer, address resourcing gaps, track utilization, and resolve conflicts.
  • Partner closely with regional sales leaders to drive revenue growth.
  • Execute the go-to-market strategy for the Sales Engineering team.
  • Support major and strategic sales opportunities, engaging other Rocket team members as required.
  • Lead solution-based sales initiatives to expand Rocket Software’s footprint in key accounts.
  • Coach and mentor the growing sales engineering organization.
  • Align the Sales Engineering team’s activities with Rocket Software’s strategic objectives and customer needs.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by gathering feedback on products, functionality gaps, market trends, and competition to inform product and business strategies.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading pre-sales engineering teams.
  • Expertise in managing regionally distributed teams.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proactive and self-sufficient mindset.
  • Experience working with customers of varying sizes in a pre-sales setting.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Sandler or Solution Selling.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle objections and think critically under pressure.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines to achieve goals.
  • Strong ability to articulate technical solutions to business-focused customers.
  • History of leading by example and achieving results.
  • Experience working in high-growth technology companies.
  • Track record of project leadership with successful outcomes.
  • Experience in indirect sales environments.
  • Working background with IBM Mainframe & IBMi preferred but not essential.

Travel Requirements: Up to 50%
