Senior Software Engineer - React Native

About the role

Rippling is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native) who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. You will be part of a talented Mobile Platform team building the next generation of Rippling Mobile app. 

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend engineers, to deliver cohesive and impactful mobile experiences. Your insights and expertise will also contribute to shaping the overall architecture and strategic direction of our mobile platform.

As part of the mobile platform team, you will also have the opportunity to enhance the mobile engineering landscape at Rippling. You will spearhead initiatives to build innovative mobile features, optimize our CI/CD pipelines, develop robust frameworks and libraries, and improve the developer experience. Your work will empower fellow engineers to innovate faster and more efficiently, ensuring that our mobile infrastructure is both cutting-edge and resilient.

What you will do

• Lead the development of our Rippling React Native applications, ensuring high standards of code quality and performance.
• Design and implement new user-facing features that deliver exceptional mobile experiences.
• Develop reusable code and libraries that enhance the scalability and maintainability of our mobile app, empowering the engineering team to innovate rapidly.
• Continuously refine the app’s performance, ensuring it remains fast, responsive, and scalable across all devices.
• Collaborate to improve CI/CD pipelines and developer tools, streamlining processes and boosting productivity.
• Provide horizontal leadership by driving long-term projects and initiatives that will have a significant impact on the future of mobile engineering at Rippling.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years experience in mobile engineering (iOS/Android) roles including leadership roles.
• 2+ years of experience in React Native development.
• Proficiency in either Android (Java/Kotlin) or iOS (Objective-C/Swift) native platforms, with the ability to integrate native modules into React Native applications.
• Proficient understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals, with experience in writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Experience with Mobile Architecture and Design Pattern
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Good interpersonal skills
