Product Manager, Growth & Lifecycle
Location: Remote (United States)
Department: Product
About the Role
We’re hiring a Product Manager – Growth & Lifecycle to own the customer-facing products and experiences that bring customers to Rhythm and keep them here.
You’ll own the customer journey from enrollment through renewal, building products that make energy simpler and give customers the information they need to make confident decisions. We'll measure your success primarily by two outcomes: conversion and retention.
You’ll work closely with Marketing and our Head of Growth to identify opportunities and run experiments across the funnel, and with Product Design to create simple, intuitive customer experiences. You’ll own product requirements and final sign-off on customer-facing experiences before they move into development.
Churn reduction and retention are among Rhythm’s top product priorities, giving this role direct and visible impact on company results from day one.
We’re looking for an independent, decisive Product Manager who can lead the room, align stakeholders, make recommendations, and move decisions forward in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
Growth & Lifecycle Product Ownership
- Own the roadmap for Rhythm’s customer-facing products across the lifecycle, including the enrollment journey, customer portal, retention, and renewal experiences.
- Drive measurable improvements in conversion and retention, establishing clear success metrics for initiatives and reporting on outcomes.
- Lead retention and churn reduction initiatives, identifying where customers drop off or disengage and building experiences designed to keep them with Rhythm.
- Use customer data, funnel analytics, segmentation, and user feedback to understand customer behavior and identify the highest-impact opportunities.
- Monitor product performance after launch and continuously iterate based on customer behavior and results.
Experimentation & Conversion
- Partner closely with Marketing and the Head of Growth to turn growth opportunities into clear hypotheses and product experiments.
- Design, prioritize, and run A/B tests across the customer journey, from acquisition and enrollment through engagement and renewal.
- Use experimentation to evaluate messaging, workflows, offers, experiences, and other opportunities to improve conversion and retention.
- Translate experiment results into clear product decisions and use learnings to inform what we build next.
- Build a consistent experimentation practice where hypotheses, success metrics, results, and next steps are clearly defined.
Customer Experience & Product Design
- Partner closely with Product Design to simplify customer experiences across Rhythm’s digital products.
- Own final sign-off on customer-facing designs from a product workflow and requirements perspective before implementation.
- Ensure customer experiences balance customer needs, business objectives, technical considerations, and measurable product outcomes.
- Use qualitative and quantitative customer insights to identify friction and make experiences simpler, clearer, and easier to act on.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Delivery
- Align stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Customer Care, Analytics, Design, and Engineering around product priorities and decisions.
- Bring clear recommendations to cross-functional conversations and drive decisions forward rather than waiting for consensus.
- Translate business objectives and customer problems into clear product requirements, user stories, workflows, and success metrics.
- Partner with Engineering throughout the software development lifecycle to manage delivery through our Agile process.
- Communicate product strategy, priorities, tradeoffs, performance, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and Executive Leadership.
- Independently own your product area while maintaining strong alignment across the teams that contribute to the customer experience.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of Product Management experience, with a focus on growth, lifecycle, retention, or other B2C customer-facing products.
- A track record of building and shipping customer-facing experiences that measurably improved conversion, retention, or engagement.
- Hands-on experience designing, running, and interpreting A/B tests.
- Strong understanding of conversion funnels and the customer behaviors that influence acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and renewal.
- Experience working closely with UI/UX designers to create simple, intuitive customer experiences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to align multiple teams, make recommendations, navigate competing priorities, and move decisions forward.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort using customer and product data to validate ideas, prioritize opportunities, and measure results.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including roadmap planning, PRDs, user stories, and Agile delivery.
- Clear, direct, and concise communication skills, from day-to-day working sessions through Executive Leadership.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of your product area in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in retail energy, utilities, or another subscription or recurring-billing business where you manage the customer relationship over time, such as SaaS, telecom, insurance, or FinTech.
- Background in Product Marketing or Go-to-Market before moving into Product Management.
- Exposure to customer lifecycle analytics, including churn, customer lifetime value (CLV), segmentation, and retention cohorts.
- Experience using SQL and data tools such as Databricks, Tableau, Google Analytics, or FullStory.
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms and Figma.
- Experience conducting user interviews and combining qualitative customer feedback with quantitative data to inform product decisions.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 12 months, success in this role will look like:
- Enrollment conversion improves through product improvements, experimentation, and a better understanding of where customers experience friction.
- Customer retention improves, and churn decreases across key customer segments.
- Rhythm has a consistent, well-run experimentation practice with Marketing, where hypotheses and success metrics are clearly defined, and test results directly influence what we build next.
- Customer-facing experiences become simpler, clearer, and easier for customers to understand and act on.
- Product decisions are grounded in customer behavior, funnel analytics, experimentation, and measurable business outcomes.
- Cross-functional meetings consistently end with clear decisions, owners, and next steps, with Product trusted to drive the process forward.
- You independently own the Growth & Lifecycle roadmap and are trusted to identify opportunities, make recommendations, and move priorities forward.
