CAD Documentation Engineer

Location: Shanghai, Shanghai, China

Resideo is currently seeking a CAD Documentation Engineer / CAD Librarian to design and maintain security intrusion system and smart home wireless product libraries and documentation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience creating, managing, and maintaining electronic component libraries (schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models) using CAD tools such as Altium or Mentor.

JOB DUTIES:

• Library Creation & Maintenance: Create, validate, and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D STEP models using CAD tools (e.g., Altium, Xpedition, Mentor).
• Data Accuracy & Validation: Verify components against manufacturer datasheets, mechanical drawings, and IPC standards (Class 2/3) to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Library Management & Control: Manage centralized component libraries, applying strict naming conventions, revision control, and lifecycle management (active/obsolete).
• Collaboration: Work closely with hardware and mechanical engineers to resolve design issues and develop custom library components as needed.
• Process Improvement: Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Python or tool-specific scripting) to improve efficiency and standardize workflows.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for library components, including parametric data. Generate schematic and assembly drawings for the PDM system.

 

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Computer-aided Design (CAD) or Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design or Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) Design.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with Mentor Expedition tool
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills
• High attention to detail when verifying datasheets and physical dimensions

WE VALUE:

• Strong understanding of PCB design principles, IPC standards (e.g., IPC-7351), and electronic component packaging
• Proficiency with Altium Designer, Mentor Expedition, Cadence Allegro, or similar CAD tools
• Experience with eCAD library development (symbols, footprints, and component parameters)
• Fluent English reading and writing skills; ability to participate in English conference meetings is preferred
• PCB layout experience is a plus
