Engineering Manager, Platform

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of test and development engineers to help shape the future of our build platform and testing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong technical and people leadership skills to drive innovation, ensure scalability, and deliver high-quality software solutions that align with our company's objectives.

You have:

• 7+ years of experience in software development and delivery in a company delivering an enterprise SaaS
• 2+ years of experience managing a team of individual contributors/software developers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget
• Strong technical background with expertise in system-level testing, quality infrastructure, and/or CI/CD frameworks
• Experience in leading and managing cross-functional engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
• Comfort working with a 100% distributed engineering team collaborating on GitHub, JIRA, Slack, and video meetings

You will:

• Lead the implementation of best practices for software development, quality assurance, and testing to maintain high standards of software excellence and reliability
• Provide strategic direction and vision for the platform software team, aligning development goals with the company's objectives and long-term roadmap
• Oversee the design, architecture, and development of scalable, reliable, and efficient platform software solutions
• Make sure the team is empowered and can demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and belonging
• Motivate and enable the team to contribute towards organizational success
• Give frequent and actionable feedback to support your team’s personal development
• Create an environment where the team is aligned with company goals, and decision-making is done collaboratively
• Continuously strive to improve how the team works and measure outcomes
• Actively attract, hire, and retain talent to grow and develop the team
• Mentor team members and collaborate with them on personal and career growth
• Identify  difficult and/or systemic challenges and impediments to the attention of your manager with potential solutions
• Actively discuss strategic topics with peers and Directors to help shape engineering’s environment
• Track progress, assess risks, and actively communicate contingency and mitigation plans for the team
• Drive evaluation and management of team members’ performance
• Manage execution of projects and key deliverables that the team is responsible and accountable for

U.S. base salary range for this role is $198,000 - $233,000 (CA, NY, WA) and  $189,000 - $223,000 (other US locations). Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. As a remote-first company, we strive to consider each candidate's job-related skills, location, experience, relevant education or training to determine individual base salary.
