Our client is developing AI-powered software to help construction teams automate manual workflows and make faster, more accurate decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Their platform integrates domain-specific construction knowledge with machine learning systems to deliver intelligent tools used in live production environments. They are seeking a Backend Engineer to help design and build the foundational systems that enable these AI-driven capabilities to operate reliably at scale.
As an early member of the engineering team, you will conceptualize real-world construction domain logic into backend architecture — developing reusable data structures, APIs, and scalable services that integrate AI functionality with customer-facing applications and enterprise infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Design and implement backend systems aligned with business and domain logic
Build reusable data structures and scalable APIs
Develop resilient services that support AI-powered product features
Integrate backend systems into customer environments and infrastructure
Partner with cross-functional teams across product and frontend engineering
Optimize system performance for AI model serving and data processing
Continuously improve platform capabilities using usage metrics and feedback
Requirements
5+ years of software development experience in fast-paced environments
4+ years of backend development experience in product-focused settings
Strong experience with Go or Rust (required)
Experience designing scalable systems and APIs
Strong collaboration and documentation practices
Experience optimizing backend performance in data-intensive systems
Experience supporting AI model deployment or inference performance is a strong plus.
