This Role

This is a Senior Front End Engineering role on our Checkout and Cart team reporting to an Engineering Manager. This Engineering team is responsible for the Rebuy platform’s checkout experience which includes our Smart Cart, Post Purchase, Functions, and Checkout Extensions. In this role, you will bring extensive professional experience in leading frontend development projects, with expert proficiency in React and other modern JavaScript frameworks. 

What You'll Do

• Build User-Focused Features: Develop and maintain highly visible, user-facing features that enhance the intuitiveness and delightfulness of using Rebuy’s Checkout and Cart tools. Leveraging our Design team’s Figma prototypes, use advanced frontend technologies (React and other modern JavaScript frameworks) to create scalable and efficient user interfaces that directly address customer needs.
• Engineering Best Practices: Contribute significantly to the engineering culture at Rebuy by establishing, documenting, and promoting best practices. Lead initiatives to introduce and standardize frontend frameworks and tools that increase development efficiency and maintainability.
• Web and Browser Performance Expertise: Ensure optimal performance of our web applications, focusing on enhancing responsiveness and efficient browser rendering to deliver a seamless user experience. 
• Mentorship: Participate actively in the code review process for not only your own Checkout and Cart teammates but also Frontend developers who handle other Rebuy products, offering insightful and actionable feedback. Learn alongside your peers to continuously advance collective skills and enhance software quality.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on deliverables to ensure code, setup and configurations meet expected results. Ensure that all features meet high standards of quality and performance before deployment. 
• Team Collaboration: Engage actively in building a strong team environment. Work in tandem with the Product Owner, Engineering Manager, and other developers in the Checkout team to identify needs, refine acceptance criteria, estimate level of effort, and choose solutions for new features. Assist Support team in troubleshooting and triaging high priority production issues. 

What You'll Need

• BS Degree or equivalent work experience 
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building full-stack applications with Next.js (or React), with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
• Deep understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), React ecosystem, Next.js best practices, Vue & Styling (CSS & Tailwind) and back-end architectural patterns.
• Nice to have familiarity with BigTable, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Shopify REST/GraphQL API, Angular
• Strong understanding of performant SaaS environment
• Experience in a Scrum/Agile environment 
• Experience with Atlassian suite, including Jira and Bitbucket
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to break down complex problems into easy-to-understand concepts.
• Ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be a problem-solver, self-motivated, and passionate about e-commerce.

Interview Process

If you pass this phone interview, you will proceed to the next set of interviews, which will include:

• Panel interview with future team members
• Short final interview with the CEO and COO
