The Offer

We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer proficient in Java and preferably experienced with Python to join our dynamic team. As a Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust backend systems to support our most innovative cloud-based products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of our systems.

The ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and verbally is a must. Knowledge of Spanish is appreciated but not a business requirement.

What Will You Do?

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, microservices, data pipelines and APIs using Java and Python.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

• Utilize cloud technologies like AWS to deploy and manage backend services.

• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Architect and implement serverless architectures for efficient resource utilization and scalability.

• Ensure code quality, performance, and security through code reviews, testing, and best practices.

• Troubleshoot and debug production issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure system reliability.

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and incorporating relevant tools and practices into the development process.

What Must You Have?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with expertise in Java and frameworks like SpringBoot, Quarkus or similar.

• Familiarity with Python and willingness to work with it.

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI).

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Knowledge of serverless architectures and experience with related technologies (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions).

• Hands-on experience with relational and no-SQL databases.

• Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and clean code principles.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

What Will Be Appreciated?

• Experience with big data frameworks like Apache Spark, Flink or Kafka.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

• Experience with reactive programming and frameworks like Project Reactor.

• Experience with document-oriented & search databases like Elasticsearch, Vespa, Solr, or equivalent.

• Experience with software testing methodologies.
