Senior Engineer - Bridges & Civils

Bengaluru / Hyderabad,  India

You will join our REC Department

As our new Senior Engineer - Bridges & Civils you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre owned by an independent trust and its employees. REC is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and based in our Bangalore office. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a center for excellence in design by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Providing structural engineering solutions for Bridges and Civils structures as per project requirements
• Coordinating and communicating with BU counterparts for understanding technical requirements
• Carrying out the design and review the work of a team of engineers and CAD technicians in carrying out the design and preparation of the drawings and maintaining quality of deliverables
• Coordination with the design team for project planning/preparation of schedule/WBS and delivering projects to time and budget,
• Mentoring and supervising Asst. Engineers/ Design Engineers and provide inputs to Team Leader/Technical manager for the continued development of the staff in the team
• Numerical modelling for different structures, design reports and calculations
• Automation of processes by writing scripts, Mathcad, excel sheets etc.
• Ensuring required quality standards
• Adhering to ISO quality procedures
• Ensuring project delivery in line with project requirements and client expectations

Qualifications

• ME/M.Tech degree in Structural Engineering from an institute of repute.
• Sound engineering skills with International exposure in bridge engineering
• Has experience in reinforced / prestressed concrete and steel structures
• Knowledge of design codes like Eurocode/DMRB/AASHTO/any other international standards would be desirable. Background in German Standards/ German National Annex to Eurocode is desirable.  
• Good analytical skills and problem-solving techniques
• Sound experience in engineering design and numerical modelling techniques in finite element analysis using software such as Sofistik /Midas /Lusas/ Infograph /RSTAB (preferable)
• Should have knowledge of tools like AutoCAD/MicroStation/Revit/Tekla and ensuring drawings are prepared in accordance with CAD standards, internationally recognized standard formats in addition to technical / functional acumen
• Should be a good team member and should coordinate with the global team, other team members and the project manager for timely delivery of project
• Professional English language and communication skills
• Preference will be given to candidates with German language skills (read, write and speak)
