Job Description

Role Purpose 

The Electrical BIM, CAD & Revit Design Engineer will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering electrical design models and drawings for data center projects, covering the full lifecycle from concept and tender to detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and as-built documentation. 

Key Responsibilities – Must have Skills, 

Electrical BIM & CAD Design 

• Develop Revit MEP and AutoCAD Electrical models for: 

• HT & LT power distribution 

• UPS systems, battery rooms, PDUs, RPPs 

• Generator systems and fuel systems (interface level) 

• Lighting, small power, earthing, and lightning protection 

• Prepare SLDs, layouts, sections, schematics, and schedules aligned with project standards. (LoD100, LoD200, LoD300, LoD400 all included) 

• Deliver LOD 300–500 BIM models and coordinated construction drawings. 

BIM Coordination & Integration 

• Lead and participate in combined services drawings (CSD) and clash-free coordination using Revit and Navisworks. 

• Coordinate closely with HVAC, Fire Protection, BMS, Civil, Structural, and Architecture teams. 

• Support 4D BIM, 3D walkthroughs, and construction sequencing models where required. 

Technical Engineering Support 

• Perform electrical load calculations, diversity assessments, and system sizing. 

• Support ETAP studies including short circuit, breaker coordination, and protection philosophy (as applicable). 

• Assist in preparation of BOQs, technical specifications, SOW, BOD, DBR, and tender documentation. 

• Participate in Uptime Institute (Tier III / IV) and TIA-942 design compliance reviews. 

Construction, Testing & Commissioning 

• Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements. 

• Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST), commissioning activities, and audit documentation. 

• Prepare redline drawings and as-built documentation. 

Qualifications

• Experience 

  8–20+ years in Electrical Design & BIM for Data Centers / Mission Critical Facilities 

  Qualification 

• Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics 

• Data Center certifications (CDCP / ATD / ETAP) preferred 

• BIM certification (Autodesk / RICS) preferred 

Additional Information

Required Skills & Tools 

• Revit MEP, AutoCAD / AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks 

• Strong understanding of data center electrical topology and redundancy concepts 

• Knowledge of Uptime, TIA-942, NFPA, IEC, IEEE, NBC, local authority codes 

• Excellent coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
