The Global Ad Technology Department (GATD) manages the whole of the advertising systems that power Rakuten. We are a cross functional and data-driven organization working together in a diverse team spread across five countries: Japan, Singapore, India, China and UK.

external advertisers (huge national and international clients) to freely manage their promotional mix and marketing campaigns. Working with

For this position, we are looking for a Program Manager who can lead a team of project managers. He/she should have the capability to solve any kind of business problem. The person should be highly skilled in one or more project management methodologies and is not afraid to come out of one's comfort zone and jump into the unknown project management world. Very much tech and business focused and create a perfect bridge between business and tech team. Experience on Web/Mobile applications and technologies would be favorable.

　

Position Details

Business Process Execution

- Work closely with the Project Managers, Product Managers, Tech, QA, Business Unit and other stakeholders, understand their need and business direction

- Understand the product roadmap and keep continuous collaboration with BU and all other groups to execute the project successfully

Project and Service Execution

- Be engaged in a whole process of an application development project (requirement definition, specification design, development, testing, release)

- Ensure that the project goal is well-aligned and manages the project team to accomplish it with the required level of quality

- Apply project management techniques to successfully deliver projects on scope, time, and budget

- Work closely with the cross-border tech teams to achieve project outcomes

- Ensure smooth communication and comprehension among all various stakeholders both in development projects and in service maintenance

Collaboration

- Working closely with the Senior Managers on Project, Product, Tech, and QA

- Collaborate with cross-culture, cross-border development team during the project execution

Always Improve, Always Advance

- Capture improvement points based on Project Management related KPIs and create/execute an improvement plan

Mentoring

- Guide and support project managers as a mentor and be a role model to improve team productivity and achieve organizational goals together

Responsibilities

- Handle a critical Advertisement Product as a Program Manager - work with multiple Project Managers to deliver the program

- Work closely with stakeholders to understand Product Roadmap and be able to assign Project Managers accordingly

- Identify and manage all the project risks. Be a strong advocate for Risk Management Process

- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Product Managers, engineering, QA and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on the project goals, priorities and strategies

- Work closely with tech lead and other engineering persons to achieve project goals defined by you. (Engineering teams are in Japan, India, and Singapore, Excellent Communication Skills is needed)

- Provide clear and effective communications of the program's status and updates to Senior Management

- Understand Project Management KPIs and help Project Managers to improve Project Success Rate

- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of systems, and how different systems interact on a Project

- Guide and support project managers as a mentor and be a role model to improve team productivity and achieve organizational goals together

　

Mandatory Qualifications:

- 10+ Years of Project Management experience

- Experience in managing a portfolio of programs from initiation through completion, enhancing business value across the various programs

- Expertise in Multiple Stakeholder Management, distributed across different geographies

- Ability to leverage technical acumens to facilitate the problem solving and ideation process with the project management team

- Drive business results through focus on project key performance indicators to improve Project Success Rate

- Experience of building strong relationship with stakeholders to resolve conflicts and negotiate priorities to ensure successful program outcomes

- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills

- Ability to build a strong working relationship between technical and non-technical people

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members to cultivate good working relationships and achieve goals together

- Experience of guiding and leading a team
