Business Overview 

The Technology Platforms Division (TPD) is responsible for building and operating the infrastructure and ecosystem platforms which power the Rakuten Group. Our mission is to provide the Rakuten Cloud and Ecosystem Platforms that will deliver core value to accelerate the growth of Rakuten Group services.

 

Department Overview 

The mission of B2C BSS Development Department is to accelerate our contribution to the telecommunications business by providing an innovative, high-quality and stable, "eco-systemized" B2C BSS platform. The MNO business just started in 2020 and we are still expanding rapidly every year.

 

We are looking for entrepreneurial, innovative, growth-oriented, and customer-obsessed individuals to join our growing team to build the Telco of the Future.

Overall Position Details 

As an QA Engineer, Team Lead for the B2C QA Team, your responsibilities will be as follows: 

- Lead a QA team and manage BSS software development projects as a QA Engineer.
- Identify Kaizen (improvement) areas for the team and across other teams/functions; drive Kaizen culture within the team.

- Communicate with group members and other managers to share and discuss QA strategy, planning, and issues.
- Take responsibility for overall QA planning, project progress monitoring, task risk identification, and provide improvement suggestions.

- Ensure that all QA deliverables meet quality standards and criteria as defined by QA team.
- Ensure that the team provides high visibility on project status, issues, and best practices.
- Create metrics for analyzing overall QA projects and cost.

Please note that we cannot consider applicants who do not have intermediate level and above Japanese skills for this role due to the range of stakeholder communication required.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in a quality management role for the software development lifecycle (3-5 years +)
- Experience in a project management role, ideally as a QA Lead in an IT-related field (1 year +)
- Experience developing test strategies, test planning, and test scheduling
- Experience initiating and implementing improvement actions for team development

 

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience working on web service and/or BSS application development projects
- Experience with Agile development

- Experience managing multiple vendors and an ability to organize, manage, and resolve simultaneous issues/road-blocks across different vendors
- ISTQB FL certification
