Business Overview
The Group Sales Division leads branding, creative, marketing, and membership as a cross-group organization with the mission of expanding the membership value and ecosystem of the Rakuten Group, which encompasses over 70 services.

We consider the mobile sector to be the cornerstone of our ecosystem, and as the Group Sales Division, we are further promoting collaboration with Rakuten Mobile.

Department Overview
The "Device Business Department" handles products such as smartphones, data terminals, IoT devices, and accessories. We oversee the entire lifecycle of the device business, including planning, development, sales, and maintenance. We strive to provide the best user experience, quality, and safety so that customers can fully enjoy Rakuten Group services through our products.

Our department consists of six sections, where members with diverse backgrounds from not only Japan but also India, China, Taiwan, the United States, France, and other countries and regions work together and inspire one another.

In the "Device Strategy Section," where you will be assigned, we are responsible for formulating product lineups—such as consumer smartphones and mobile Wi-Fi routers for Rakuten Mobile—as well as planning and executing sales strategies. We play a pivotal role in driving the growth of Rakuten Mobile’s business by acquiring and retaining new customers through the provision of devices and by maximizing revenue.

Position:

Position Details
As a member of the Device Strategy Section, you will be assigned the following tasks based on your experience and skills:

You will be responsible for strategic proposals, operational improvements, and regular performance monitoring to acquire and retain new customers and maximize revenue through device offerings. This involves utilizing internal/external sales data and customer survey data across two organizations under the Device Business Department (the Device Strategy Section and the Device Sales Section).

・Performance Analysis: Analyze sales results for new products and promotional campaigns, checking for issues in KPIs beyond unit sales, such as ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) and Churn Rate. If issues are identified, you will propose improvement measures.
・Market Analysis: Analyze the sales performance of competitors and identify gaps to be addressed in our own device portfolio. You will conduct original surveys to understand the necessary customer trends.
・Other: Contribute to the growth of the Device Business Department through broad data analysis, including proposals for new devices and services for the future, not limited to existing terminals.

In the above duties, communication in both Japanese and English is essential. As mentioned, our department is composed of a diverse, international team, and high communication skills in both languages are required for daily collaboration with related departments.

Mandatory Qualifications:
・3+ years of professional experience or equivalent practical experience
・Communication skills to work smoothly with a wide range of stakeholders both inside and outside the department
・Business-level English proficiency
・Residing within a commutable distance

・Practical experience as a data scientist, or business experience in products/services
・Practical experience with PowerPoint and Excel
・Work experience in a foreign-owned company or a multinational team
・Experience as a manager or leader
