Business Overview

Rakuten is an EC company that owns Japan's largest platform called Rakuten Ichiba. The business model of Rakuten Ichiba is BtoBtoC, and Client Stores, Society and Rakuten Group work together as a unity. We cooperate and enlarge on the Rakuten Ichiba Platform.

 

Department Overview

On the other hand, we are taking on the challenge of a business model (BtoC) that leads our whole development by directly operating our own e-commerce that specializes in specific categories and understands each industry.

Rakuten EC Firstparty Department (ECFD) is a development organization responsible for those BtoC business and taking care from upstream to downstream of whole e-commerce business such as purchasing product, Sales through web-site, marketing and analysis.

Position:

Our services are growing fast and we need new members to help us empower those services with a holistic approach.

Front end for users has been converted to a site based on JavaScript development, and we are looking for not only Java engineer as well as JavaScript engineer.

Position Details

- Develop front end for each BtoC Service and also develop BFF.

- Develop new or existing function, design, test and release.

- Develop highly agile team to meet our speedy-changing business needs.

- Develop with cooperating with other various internal team such as Search Team, Recommend Team.
- Conduct load tests, performance tuning, and make countermeasures for Sales promotion, in order to build a system that can withstand high traffic.

- Develop high quality applications (Requirements, Design, Development, Tests, Review, and Release).

- Do operations and improvements on the service after release.

In particular, your responsibilities may include.

- Launching new BtoC services.

- Analyzing/developing features which are required in new/existing BtoC services.

- Developing libraries to increase development efficiency in BtoC services.

In this position, you will have a cross-sectional relationship with a variety of BtoC services. As such, you will have an opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and valuable experiences in the BtoC business.

Furthermore, as this is a newly opened position, you will be able to work with teams to help lay their foundations and pave the way. We are waiting for entries of motivated people.

 

Work Environment

You will work with ECFD members who have service oriented mind and flexible mind for the better. We have more than 200 members.

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

- More than 5 years of experience of Web application development for consumers. 

- Experience and basic knowledge of Linux/Unix.

- More than 3 years of experience and basic knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

- Experience and basic knowledge of the following languages.

  (React, Redux, Typescript, PHP, Java)

- Experience in developing applications using WEB-APIs.

- Basic knowledge of Web system security.

  

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in developing applications using React Hooks.

- Experience in web application development with SPA, SSR.

- Experience of Docker and Kubernetes.

- Basic knowledge of SEO.

- More than 3 years of experience and basic knowledge of RDB.

- More than 1 year of experience and basic knowledge of Git.

- Experience with Agile methodology.

- Experience in designing/introducing of Middleware.

- Experience in development with frameworks such as Spring.

- Experience in design/development of BtoC application (especially experience in developing an EC site).
