Department Overview

Rakuten Enterprise Cloud Foundation Department (EFD)'s mission is to aggregate Rakuten platforms through a unified user experience and seamless cross-use to accelerate Rakuten services to go-to market. As a horizontal organization, our success is connected to each vertical organization's own success.

Group Overview

The API Solutions Group manages API gateways that empower services throughout the entire Rakuten Group. You will join a talented, multicultural, agile team responsible for building and maintaining multiple mission-critical services on private & public Cloud infrastructure.
Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute more to critical services at a large, enterprise-level scale. Our services must maintain high quality & SLA while handling a tremendous amount of traffic.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer,
you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure and software delivery processes. Your primary focus will be on streamlining our development, testing, and deployment pipelines to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the development team to ensure proper implementation of software code and delivery.
- Create and manage infrastructure as code scripts for deploying software in a cloud environment
- Ensure that the production systems are reliable and stable by monitoring system performance, identifying potential issues and addressing them proactively.
- Perform continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
- Write automation scripts to support DevOps processes, including testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Handle on-call incidents

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

− + 5 years in a proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
− Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, such as Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and proficiency in
managing infrastructure
− Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy) for automation and infrastructure
management.
− Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Docker,
Kubernetes).
− Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
− Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and application performance
optimization.
− Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
− Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
− Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
