Department Overview
The Corporate IT Department provides various platforms and internal services for Rakuten Group engineers who develop and manage many services in Rakuten group. We are in charge of development and management of the platforms and services described below:
- Authentication and authorization platform for internal services/tools
- Proxy services for engineers to access various internal resources

The Corporate IT Department is looking for an engineer who is willing to start a new challenge with us to improve our business operations and to develop and operate our in-house services.
The role will be based in the Tokyo Headquarters, but will work with the global teams.
Position Details
- Maintain/manage the proxy services for engineers (Apache, Nginx, Squid)
- Enhance/improve the automation processes of our in-house services
- Develop, operate and maintain the in-house services
- Develop, operate and maintain the in-house authentication and authorization platform
- Provide development support for developers for the in-house services
Mandatory Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Experience with Linux administration
- 2+ years of experience with web application administration (Apache, Nginx, or Squid)
- Experience with Automation process tool development ( Jenkins, etc)
- Willingness to work with various other engineering teams in a collaborative manner and make a good relationship with them
- Curiosity and spirit of challenge for new technology and services
- High communication skill
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience of performance tuning (Apache, Nginx, Squid)
- Knowledge/experience of network
- Knowledge/experience in web application development (PHP)
- RDBMS knowledge
