Business Overview
The Technology Platforms Division (TPD) is responsible for building and operating the infrastructure and ecosystem platforms which power the Rakuten Group. Our mission is to provide our Rakuten Cloud and Ecosystem Platforms which will deliver Core Value to accelerate the growth of Rakuten Group services

Department Overview
The Cloud Services Department (CLSD) mission is to provide high quality services for application team.Our value is providing enough managed services such as Container Orchestration, Database, API Gateway, Load Balancers, CI/CD and Monitoring. We empower Rakuten by helpingapplication team to focus on their business.We're waiting for persons who like to find new challenges, and who like to work together to resolve such new challenges.

The Application Platform Section is providing standardized application workload platform for all of Rakuten services. These virtualization layer consist on top of phisical layer as a OneCloud products. and All of our products are OSS base, so we are working with OSS community to improve quality. Each engineer is required the skills not only system operation but also programming & devOps skills to integrate platform with our private cloud. Services under Application Platform Section are: - Container platform is providing container orchestration solution like a k8s, Mesos, cloud foundry. - CI/CD platform is providing integrated CICD solution and provide standardized pipeline for all of developpers. - Monitoring & Anomaly detection platofrm. is gathering all of metrics of Rakuten and providing smart alerting system. - SW loadbalancer platform is handing huge size of traffic with distributed loadbalancer which deployed on all of regions.

Overall Position Details
As a hands-on backend developer, you will use your development skills to build applications.
Your responsibilities will be as follows:

- Develop software solutions, respond to requests for coding, testing, maintenance of software programs and systems.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver features with quality and speed.
- Take responsibility of the code, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining, bug-fix when needed, and improve existing software.
- Deliver secure, reusable and maintainable high code quality, based on specifications.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.

Additional Information
As a member of CI/CD Platform Group your job will be to maintain and improve infrastructure such as container registries and other CI/CD tools. You will have to coordinate with multiple stakeholders within the company's environment and take ownership of large projects such as the launch of new services, end of life maintenance and system migrations.

Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Computer Science or in related fields, or equivalent education and experience (3 years+)
- Experience with Unix/Linux (9 years+)
- Experience with software development (5 years+)
- Experience in CI/CD automation of service delivery (using GoCD, Jenkins/git, etc.) (6 years+)
- Experience of covering application with sufficient amount of logs, metrics, traces to observe user & data flows, and simplify system maintenance (3 years+)
- Experience with using Docker or other container platform (9 years+)
- Qualification in Cloud Native deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, Istio) (3 years+)
- Experience with Agile practice (2 years+)
- Experience with Python (5 years+)
- Experience with working on open source project (9 years+)
- Experience in Prometheus for pull-based metrics gathering or Graphite for push-based metrics gathering (2 years+)
- Experience in Docker container technology and its related ecosystem, such as Kubernetes, etc. (9 years+)
- Experience in Linux operating system and command line tools (9 years+)
- Strong experience with large scale systems (9 years+)
- Knowledge in developing software/system with good observability from the very beginning (5 years+)
- Familiar with relational databases (5 years+)

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Computer Science or in related fields, or equivalent education and experience (10 years+)
- Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Computer Science or in related fields, or equivalent education and experience (4 years+)
