Department Overview
The B2B Business Planning Department you will be assigned is a corporate organization that brings together cross-business divisions such as corporate planning, HR, general affairs, and legal affairs under the direct control of the vice president.
Based on the company-wide strategy, we plan and execute measures that involve executives, measure effects, and formulate improvement measures.
Using your experience, we can be involved in the business from the upstream process to execution.

In this department, we aim to contribute to a wider range of customers by facing customers throughout the Rakuten Group, and plan the IT business infrastructure for multiple systems that serve as activity infrastructure. We are looking for people who can oversee and manage development projects.
We are looking for people who can work on planning and development with a sense of party and solve various business problems in each development project. This position requires communication skills that are a bridge between multiple development teams, pursuing maximization of transaction value with Rakuten.
Position Details
You will work not only with planning staff, but also with related business units and subsidiaries to understand the direction, needs, and issues of each project and lead the project to a solution.
Specifically, you will be expected to lead the following tasks.
- Manage all phases of development projects (requirements definition, development, testing, and release)
- Manage issues and measures to protect QCD by effectively applying project management techniques
- Build and maintain good relationships with developers from multiple countries of origin and different cultural backgrounds
Work Environment
This division is a small elite unit led by a senior managing executive officer who has held senior management positions at major foreign IT companies. Members' backgrounds are diverse, including subsidiary executives, public infrastructure, major IT, major manufacturers, trading companies, and start-ups.

Mandatory Qualifications:
- Experience in development project management for over 5 years
- Experience in multiple project management methods (agile, waterfall, etc.)
- Experience in managing multiple projects in parallel
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in requirements definition, external design, and technical documentation
- Experience in quality control planning and implementation
- Knowledge of corporate marketing
- Experience in mentoring junior members and leading a team

- Ability to maintain good working relationships with both technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to motivate and lead team members to achieve goals
