The AI & Data Consulting Department (AIDC) has a mission to solve business challenges for both internal and external clients of Rakuten Group. AIDC leverages Rakuten's innovative AI and data products to provide innovative solutions that transform customers' businesses.


Our team collaborates with various business units within Rakuten Group, utilizing AI technology to enhance operational efficiency and create new business opportunities. Additionally, we offer AI solutions to external client companies, supporting them in strengthening their competitive edge.
AIDC is a team of diverse experts, including data scientists, data engineers, and consultants. We aim to bridge the gap between technology and business, contributing to the success of our clients.

Recruitment for New Personnel Due to the Establishment of a New AI Project Team

 

Position Details

As an AI Project Leader, you will be responsible for the following tasks.

1. Solving Business Challenges

- Deeply understand the business challenges faced by client companies and Rakuten's internal business units and propose optimal solutions that combine Rakuten's AI/data products.

- Provide customized proposals based on client’s needs and develop strategies to achieve concrete results.

2. Project Promotion and Management

- As a member of AIDC (AI & Data Center), collaborate with consultants, engineers, product managers, data scientists from other teams within the department, and external partners to smoothly advance projects.

- Manage project progress, optimize resources, and risk, demonstrating leadership to ensure project success.

3. Team Management

- In the future, serve as a manager of a team responsible for promoting AI projects within AIDC, supporting the growth of the team and the success of projects.

- Develop team members, manage motivation, and evaluate performance to build a strong team.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- DX Project Experience: Over 10 years of experience as a leader or project manager for DX projects in a business company or consulting firm.

- Experience Collaborating with Stakeholders: Experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders such as sales, marketing, product development, and customer support to launch and promote projects.

- Knowledge and Passion for Generative AI: Basic understanding of generative AI such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and a passion for continuously learning recent technologies.

- Language Proficiency: Native-level Japanese and business-level English.

- People Management Experience: Experience in people management, including the development and motivation management of team members, in addition to project management.

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in AI/Data Science projects.

- Experience in the downstream processes (coding) of system development projects.

- Experience in Agile development (experience in advancing projects while quickly validating prototypes)
