Engineering Manager - Mobile

Responsibilities:

• Lead Scalability and Optimization: Spearhead efforts to scale and optimize e-commerce mobile applications, leveraging past experiences and industry best practices to enhance app speed and e-commerce metrics.
• Drive Performance Metrics: Utilize a deep understanding of e-commerce metrics and relevant tools to analyze performance data, continuously striving to improve conversion rates, average order value, and other key metrics.
• Architectural Leadership: Take charge of the architectural design and evolution of front-end technology, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance while leading the team toward innovative solutions.
• Establish KPIs and Metrics: Define and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure storefront performance across mobile platforms, actively monitoring and optimizing metrics to drive strategic decision-making and improve user experience on all devices.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product management, design, engineering, and other teams to align priorities, drive consensus, and execute strategic initiatives effectively, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation across all environments.
• Mentorship and Talent Development: Mentor and develop team members, cultivating a culture of growth, collaboration, and excellence within the team, while actively participating in recruitment efforts to attract top-tier talent.
• Challenge Status Quo: Encourage a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team, challenging the status quo and driving continuous improvement through creative problem-solving and a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles on all platforms.
• Communicate Effectively: Maintain open and transparent communication with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities within the storefront technology domain, while demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction across all devices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Technical Skills:
• Experience in large-scale e-commerce mobile app and website development.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce metrics.
• Proficient in Website / App technologies
• React Native, Android, Swift ios, Hybrid apps
• Experience with monitoring tools to monitor KPIs, speed, etc. (like Calibre, GA, etc.)
• A/B Testing Framework
• Next js / Gatsby
• React
• Modular SCSS
• AWS Cloud Infrastructure and more….


• Additional Requirements:
• Proven history leading and motivating high-performing engineering teams (10+ members).
• Strong understanding of Fullstack's internal processes and workflows for effective product ownership.
• Experienced in DevOps practices and frameworks, championing automation from infrastructure setup to continuous delivery (CD).
• Demonstrated track record in optimizing service availability, performance, and stability through operational excellence principles.
• Technologically passionate with a proven track record in hyper-growth product development.

Goals:

• 3-month:
• By the 1st month, familiarize yourself with OKRs for team.
• Spend quality time understanding the team’s OKRs with your PM and business owner
• Your team-level OKRs include Engineering goals.

• Complete MVP (Minimum Viable Product) Development and launch the IOS APP.
• Ensure Scalability and Performance

• Maintain a steady 60 fps frame rate across all devices and scenarios
• Network response time < 1 sec
• Better CPU and memory usage
• Assess monitoring and peak-load readiness by Sep’24. Declare absolute readiness for 5x load.
• Build A/B pipeline for the app
• Build AI based true-fit size guide
• Improve & personalize Algolia search result relevancy Plan for peak load (5x) testing, identification and fixes for bottlenecks before Aug’24
• Take care of “low-hanging + urgent” issues such as frequent TechOps ticket elimination, completing follow-up actions (from recent incidents), alerting & monitoring improvements, site performance issues. Target 10% reduction in TechOps tickets and incident management (Maximum one Sev-0 incident per quarter)


• 12-month:
• Complete IOS app with all the features and android MVP
• Increase website conversion rates by 20% and average-order-value (AOV) by 10% through targeted UI improvements and A/B testing.
• Boost session duration by 20% with personalized engagement strategies tailored to individual user preferences and behaviors.
