What does the Growth team do at Quince?

Growth is a supercritical charter at Quince. Its goal is to build Awareness, Acquisition, and Retention for the customers. We primarily focus on building engineering systems to drive growth marketing and retention. Growth marketing is a complex charter because we heavily focus on doing targeted performance marketing using algorithms and automation to deploy our marketing spend. Email and SMS-based marketing, activation, and engagements are also part of this charter. 

What are the key problems you’ll be solving

1. Building a world-class attribution system, iterating and improvising using MTA, MMA, and Incrementality factors.
2. Building an Art of the state bid automation system that gives the capability to scale with efficiency, which involves multiple data science models as well as engineering systems to process the data, take decisions, and feed it to the marketing channels.
3. Building Orchestration platforms to activate customers to engage on different journey touch points.
4.As an Engineering manager, you’ll also build, sustain, and lead the high-performance engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a group of highly skilled engineers by providing technical management, guidance, coaching, best practices and principles
  • Active participation in the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of software projects
  • Responsible for resource planning, execution, and quality of the software delivered by the group
  • Lead the group to build sophisticated products using cutting-edge technology stack. The products will be used by retail customers and internal business users.
  • Work closely with various business stakeholders like Product Management Team, and other Engineering teams to drive the execution of multiple business strategies and technologies
  • Act as a point of contact for TCO (total cost of ownership), managing and driving production defects & stability improvements to resolution
  • Ensuring operational efficiency and actively participating in organizational initiatives with the objective of ensuring the highest customer value
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Business teams to optimize the ad spend for maximum reach and return on ad spend (ROAS)

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 10+ years of experience
  • Experience working in highly dynamic Engineering environment like a start-up
  • Deep understanding in one of Object-Oriented programming languages
  • Strong technology acumen, knowledge of software engineering process, design knowledge and architecture intelligence
  • Exposure to any of the prominent cloud service providers (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and quality, and the ability to work well in and across teams
  • Experience and knowledge of delivering products with low/no-touch support along with SRE principles
  • Prior experience in solving use cases in AdTech/Performance Marketing Engineering is highly desirable

3-6-12 month goals


  • 3-month goals
  • Understand our current Growth KPIs and provide engineering cadence to track and achieve the 2024 OKRs.
  • Get familiar with details of the top 5 channels, Meta, Google, Affiliate, TikTok, and Take ownership of Growth charter, Acquisition, and Retention.
  • Start owning the Mar Tech Engineering sprints and driving biweekly user meetings from an engineering standpoint Streamline WBR and MBR reporting from an engineering pov 
  • Develop a close working relationship with Business and PM and start collaborating productively Own the hiring roadmap for the Engineering team and create a 1-year engineering roadmap to scale the current marketing systems.

  • Understand the current Acquisition business requirements and solution implementation deeply and start influencing the business from the engineering side
  • Understand our current Growth KPIs and influence the following goals from an engineering standpoint by partnering with Growth Business and PM.
  • Aim to achieve the overall Growth annual goals and drive towards it
  • Take ownership of the Growth whole charter, Acquisition, and Retention both, not only for the business OKR, but also tech tech OKR.
  • Build systematic engineering systems to automate the marketing initiatives that can scale.
