The Role
As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Senior Report Developer (Power BI) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced reports and dashboards while leading data modeling efforts to support complex business requirements. This role emphasizes creating scalable data solutions, integrating disparate data sources, and delivering actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Power BI, data modeling, and business intelligence, coupled with the ability to mentor junior team members and drive reporting excellence.
This position is eligible for remote.
The Position
- Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of Power BI dashboards and reports to meet organizational needs.
- Design and manage complex data models to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement and maintain best practices in data governance, accuracy, and security.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior report developers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to reporting and data modeling.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, tools, and strategies.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.”
The Individual
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7 years of experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Extensive experience with advanced data modeling techniques and tools.
- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and relational database design.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and ETL processes, with familiarity in cloud-based data solutions.
- Expertise in designing scalable and efficient data models for complex datasets.
- Advanced understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.

- IT teams, Data Engineers and Database Administration, Leadership to help present reporting capabilities and align on deliverables.
External Partners:
- Contractors and vendors.
The Work Environment
No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.
Physical Demands
Works for lengthy periods of time in sitting or standing position and for lengthy periods of time using a computer. Position may require travel, up to 10%, travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel. At times, this role demands flexible work hours to meet deadlines, maintain system availability and support business continuity.
Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $140,000-$150,000 [and is bonus eligible or eligible for incentive compensation.] QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
