Associate Technical Architect - QA - Automation

Role: Test Lead – Automation

Experience: 10+ years

Location: Mumbai/Bangalore (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Strategy & Framework Development

  • Define and implement automation strategy across UI, API, data, and integration testing

  • Design and develop scalable, reusable automation frameworks

  • Establish automation standards, best practices, and governance

  • Drive adoption of automation-first testing approach across projects

Automation Delivery & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end automation implementation across client engagements

  • Identify automation candidates and prioritize regression coverage

  • Ensure integration of automation suites with CI/CD pipelines

  • Drive parallel execution, performance optimization, and stability of test suites

Accelerators & IP Development

  • Build reusable automation accelerators, libraries, and utilities

  • Contribute to organization-wide QA frameworks and toolkits

  • Develop solutions for:

    • Test data management

    • Test orchestration

    • Reporting and analytics

  • Enable faster onboarding and delivery through reusable assets

Technical Leadership & Mentoring

  • Mentor and guide junior automation engineers and testers

  • Conduct code reviews and enforce automation best practices

  • Drive capability building and upskilling within the QA team

  • Promote engineering excellence and continuous improvement

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Work closely with clients, developers, DevOps, and product teams

  • Translate business requirements into automation solutions

  • Provide regular updates, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders

  • Act as a trusted advisor on quality engineering and automation

CI/CD & DevOps Integration

  • Integrate automation frameworks with tools like

  • Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI

  • Implement quality gates and continuous testing practices

  • Enable shift-left and shift-right testing strategies

Innovation & Emerging Capabilities

  • Drive adoption of AI/GenAI in test automation

  • Test case generation

  • Self-healing automation

  • Intelligent test selection

  • Explore and implement modern tools such as Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium

  • Continuously improve frameworks with latest industry practices

Must have skills:

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in test automation frameworks (UI & API)

  • Hands-on with tools like Playwright, Selenium, Cypress

  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, Requests

  • Programming skills in Java / JavaScript / Python

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

  • Cloud & Modern Engineering

  • Experience with AWS services such as: Compute, storage, and serverless architectures

  • CI/CD and deployment pipelines

  • Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strong team leadership and mentoring experience

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to drive automation transformation initiatives

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking

Nice to have skills

  • Experience in data testing or ETL validation

  • Exposure to AI-driven testing approaches

  •  Good understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based systems
