Must-Have Skills:

  • Cloud Architecture Experience: At least 7 years of proven experience as a cloud architect with expertise in both AWS and Azure.

  • Governance Tools: Proficiency in governance tools and principles (Azure Policy, Azure RBAC, AWS IAM, AWS Organizations, etc.).

  • Architectural Design: Demonstrated expertise in analyzing, designing, and implementing architectures, combining IaaS/PaaS/SaaS concepts.

  • Networking: Understanding of the "Hub & Spoke" model and the ability to implement networking resources (Virtual Networks, Routing Tables, Azure Firewall, AWS VPC, Transit Gateway).

  • DNS Principles: Solid grasp of DNS principles.

  • Active Directory Services: Good knowledge of Azure Active Directory Domain Services.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in producing artifacts (Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) and scripting (Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, AWS CLI).

  • DevOps: Expertise in continuous integration and delivery concepts (Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline), Git repositories, and source code management processes.

  • Scripting and Automation: Solid Bash/Shell scripting experience, experience with scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, and automation frameworks.

  • Migration Experience: Experience in migrating data and applications between AWS and Azure.

  • Code Reviews: Ability to conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards, security practices, and adherence to architectural guidelines.

  • Technical Leadership: Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance, ensuring best practices, code quality, and performance optimization.

  • Team Mentorship: Capability to mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect and AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.

  • Operating Systems: Familiarity with Linux/UNIX environments.

  • Databases: Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • API Design: Experience with API design principles, versioning, security, and documentation for web/mobile applications.

  • Security and Compliance: Understanding of information security and compliance standards (SOC2, PII data handling) on both AWS and Azure.

  • Disaster Recovery: Experience with creating Disaster Recovery plans to ensure business continuity.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Migration: Lead and oversee the migration of workloads and applications between AWS and Azure. Develop migration strategies, assess application compatibility, and ensure minimal disruptions during the migration process.

  • Architecture and Design: Design cloud-based solutions on AWS and Azure that align with clients' business goals, ensuring scalability, high availability, and cost efficiency.

  • Client Engagement: Act as the primary consultant and point of contact for clients seeking cloud migration services. Analyze client needs, provide expert guidance, and build lasting relationships.

  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize cloud resources to enhance performance and control costs. Make recommendations for performance improvements as needed.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and other technical experts. Provide leadership and technical support in cloud-related projects.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation related to migration processes, configurations, and best practices. Facilitate knowledge sharing within the consulting team through training and mentoring.

  • Cloud Security: Experience with Cloud Security (IAM, AWS WAF) and web application security.

  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools like AWS Cloud Native Tools, GitHub, GitLab, Argocd, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines.

  • Microservices Deployment: In-depth, hands-on experience in deploying microservices to AWS ECS, AWS EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and in preparing Kubernetes resources.
