Java Software Engineer – Market Risk Technology

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Java-based applications supporting Market Risk.
Contribute to complex projects and strategic technology initiatives.
Design and architect scalable, secure and high-performance solutions.
Work with large relational databases and optimize complex queries.
Participate in code reviews, design discussions and knowledge sharing.
Apply software engineering best practices and design patterns.
Maintain and enhance existing applications and improve their performance.
Support production environments and BAU requests.
Collaborate with global stakeholders and contribute to the technical roadmap.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance.
Evaluate and adopt new technologies, tools and automation solutions.
Explore and leverage AI agents and automation tools throughout software development, testing/validation and production deployment.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring and relational databases.
• Strong object-oriented design and development skills.
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with relational database logical modelling.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large relational databases.
• Experience with JUnit and unit testing.
• Ability to write scripts using Shell and/or Python.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow established coding standards.
• Experience working in an international/global environment is an advantage.
