  • Implement, test, and maintain Qualys Cloud Platform applications on Unix/Linux environments using various computer languages, software tools, and technologies such as VMware, Perl/Shell scripting, Hitachi, NetApp, EMC, IBM, HP Open View, TSM,, and Git;
  • General knowledge of centralized storage concepts and can configure VMware for connectivity and use.
  • General knowledge of other VMware solutions such as,, Dell Systems.
  • Responsible for proactive monitoring of physical and virtual server environment within our data centers' global locations
  • Perform execution of enterprise backups and restores
  • Responsible for physical racking and stacking servers and related devices
  • Perform installation of network equipment (rack, stack, and cabling) Building custom cages and have a great knowledge of(power) tools for installation
  • Test and turn up circuits
  • Design deployments of Qualys applications, databases, operating systems, and network-related software updates to ensure the Qualys Cloud Platform is kept up to date using Qualys Enterprise Linux Scanner Appliance, Oracle Linux (“OEL”), Ansible, and Chef;
  • Build and manage software patches and upgrades to applications on private and public cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services (“AWS”), Google Cloud Platform (“GCP”), and Azure; 
  • Analyze root causes of application and platform service issues/outages, and provide corrective actions for improvement leveraging expertise with Unix server design and IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, Linux (SuSE) recovery and upgrades;
  • Document and maintain application and platform service issues/outages data and report service quality metrics to management;
  • Automate applications deployment, network-based operating system installations, and server provisioning using Fabric, Cobbler, and Packer tools; 
  • Manage configuration, test automation, and set up of applications and platform cloud infrastructure on Unix systems using Terraform;
  • Monitor and ensure continuous support and availability of cloud platform servers by troubleshooting DNS, NTP, NIS/NIS+, LDAP, SMTP, and TCP/IP protocols; and
  • Participate in Qualys applications design discussions and work with Qualys’ technical writers to regularly update Qualys Cloud Platform architectural and deployment documents for future modifications and upgrades using Confluence, Git, and SVN
