Senior Cloud Engineer

Self-motivated individual to assist in maintaining the Qualys Engineering R&D Lab in Pune, India. Individual will be responsible for the RD Lab virtualization infrastructure and images, as well as a wide variety of Hardware, Network infrastructure, Operating systems and Applications & Datacenter Management .The primary focus will be to service DEV, QA, Development and Support team requests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Setup/Install/Patch multiple hardware/OS Multiple virtualizations and cloud platforms including (but not limited to), All flavors of Linux/Unix MacOSX and Windows.

Candidate should know about MS Exchange, SQL cluster , Share point.

-Handson experience on AD, DNS & DHCP. SCCM, WSUS.

-Solid understanding of Virtualization, specifically VMware ESX/ESXi/vSphere/vCenter, VSAN , KVM, Open stack, Hyper V

- Install, configure and maintain vulnerable software in the lab.

- Patch Management of systems that are to be kept up-to-date.

- Maintain lab infrastructure and target uptime.

- Creation, maintenance and backup of VMWare Images.

- Hardware and software technical evaluation and procurement.

- Inventory and documentation of Lab resources and testbeds.

- Monitor all infrastructure and guest images and ensure these are available to Engineering teams for vuln and compliance scanning.

- Rack and Stack servers, Lab Environment Management etc. 

- Use JIRA to track all work items - create, update, resolve and close tickets as required

Qualifications:

- 8+ Years’ Experience on multiple Cloud platforms such as EC2, Microsoft Azure Google cloud

- BS Degree in Computer Science or related field.

- Experience with a wide variety of hardware, All Operating Systems and network firewall’s and routing architectures.

- Strong understanding of linux-based services such as DNS, DHCP, iptables, Apache, FTP, Samba, NFS, iSCSI and IPv4/IPv6 routing.

- - Experience with LDAP and Active Directory domains and computer/user rights management as well as domain level security settings (GPOs).

- Experience with installation and configuration of different Databases like Oracle, MySQL, SQL-Server, postgres, mongo DB, Cassandra etc.

- Ability to automate system administration tasks using scripting (Bash, Python or Perl, Rsync, Crontab).

- Ability to install and configure a variety of services such as All Web servers Like IIS, LAMP, PHP, Kerberos, all Proxies etc.

- Knowledge of network monitoring and other network administrative tools such as big brother, nagios, cacti/MRTG, netdisco, ipplan, rackmonkey, wireshark, tcpdump and scanning tools such as nmap.

- Patch management experience on Windows WSUS, Linux systems.

- Install & configuration of all flavors of Anti-Virus and Secure gateway.

- Good Linux system administrator skills and TCP/IP network Cisco IOS fundamentals.

- Tenacious and aggressive troubleshooting skills

- Good communication and documentation skills

- Must be able to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines and be pro-active with customer issues.

- Must be a critical thinker with excellent verbal and written skills.

 Additional Qualifications:

- Knowledge of Docker Containers, Puppet, Chef, Ansible and Micro services.
